Applicant’s Name

Upon Application

After reviewing the application, the Enrollment Director will contact the applicant and/or their parent(s) or guardian(s) to discuss the application. If the applicant seems to be a good candidate for The Guild, a three- to five-day visit will be arranged. This visitation period gives the applicant, their family, and our staff the opportunity to get to know one another, and allows both the applicant and The Guild to see if they are compatible prior to enrollment.

Enrollment

After the applicant’s visit, enrollment will or will not be recommended and the Enrollment Director will contact the applicant and their family to convey the decision. Upon acceptance, the Enrollment Director will provide all necessary enrollment documents, including financial agreements. The Program Coordinator will contact the member and their parent(s) or guardian(s) to schedule a time to conduct an Individual Service Plan interview for the new member.

Member Profile

The Guild is a multifaceted program that provides both in-house and community-based vocational training and opportunities. Members gather each morning as a group to discuss the daily schedule and then spend most of the day in smaller group settings. Potential members should be comfortable with participating in both team-based and individual tasks and activities. Potential members and families should also be comfortable with members participating in activities and tasks outside of The Guild’s main facilities.

Member Requirements

In order to provide a positive learning environment for all members and staff, please know that we are not able to accommodate members who require aides due to behavioral issues that would distract from the ongoing instruction or the safety and security of Guild members or Guild staff. The Guild cannot accept adults who are physically or verbally aggressive (hitting, biting, cursing, kicking, slapping, spitting, etc.) towards themselves, their peers, or staff. All applicants must have independent toileting skills and not require assistance in the bathroom. All applicants must also have the ability to feed themselves without assistance.

Individual Aides

We are unable to provide one-on-one assistance to participants who need a more individualized form of support for academics, self-care and/or social interaction. Individual aides for support may be considered on a case-by-case basis and all fees associated with an aide would be the responsibility of the family. All aides must be interviewed and approved by The Guild and provide a recent background check or submit to a background check as part of our licensing requirements.
